Each session creates a distinct liquidity zone. The high and low of each session range often act as reference levels when the next session opens.
The first major session for Vietnam-based traders. JPY pairs and AUD/NZD typically show the clearest range formation. Mark the Asian high and low before London opens — these levels frequently cap or floor the first hour of European trade.
Peak liquidity for EUR, GBP, and CHF pairs. The first two hours (14:00–16:00 ICT) overlap with the Asian close and often produce the day's initial directional move. Watch for wick rejections at the Asian range extremes.
USD-driven volatility increases when New York opens at 19:00 ICT. The London–New York overlap (19:00–23:00 ICT) is the highest-volume window for major pairs. Index futures and gold also respond sharply during this period.
During the Session Mapping Intensive, students receive a colour-coded template that draws vertical session dividers and horizontal range boxes automatically. Before using any template, though, you should be able to mark sessions by hand on a blank chart — this builds the spatial awareness that templates alone cannot teach.
